I love a challenge, and it’s so important to push yourself and improve, particularly when you work for yourself. As a composer, it helps me to consider new techniques within my own music.
Last year, I was encouraged by my lovely Patron, Jenny, to learn my favourite piano piece, the Chopin nocturne in C# minor. This year I quite fancy working on one of my favourite violin concertos. I’ve started lots of concertos, but often get distracted with other things and never actually finish them! Should I choose the Beethoven or Elgar concerto to work on?
This collection of music was left to me by a dear friend, Veronica, who played in my Classical Strings Quartet. Before she passed away, she gave me all her concertos, so I feel motivated to practise them. Which should I do first?!
Huge and heartfelt thanks to you all for your support, you really do help me more than you will ever know! X
