I hope you are all keeping well. I’m sure things are improving in the big wide world, it’s just a matter of time and keeping on going ?

I’m getting geared up to film my video for Jenny, my solo piano version of ‘Initial Bond’, which I composed using my Dad’s initials within the music to create the theme. It’s been a challenge to perform it on piano, I previously asked the concert pianist, John Thomson to record it for me on my album, ‘Between Worlds’ so I’m really pleased I’ve been able to get it up to performing standard (hopefully!?).

However, I felt that there was still something missing from how I was playing it… I couldn’t seem to put my finger on what it was… (?) So I asked Phil, who has been witnessing my work on the music, and he suggested that I was playing it a bit too fast! That was it! I was focusing too much on the actual notes. At a slightly slower tempo, the music can breathe and I have more control over the interpretation!

So, I’m nearly there! Thanks so much to you all, your support is keeping me going during this strange time, I do so appreciate your help and encouragement. Stay safe, and take care xxx
