'What is Celtic Music? We all have an idea in our minds.  Personally I don't put labels on my music, but I realise it is an important marketing tool.  For me my music is about the landscape, pulling in the great English composers and writing each piece as if it will one day form the backdrop to a Hollywood film or the home movie of our collective imaginations'.  Sue Aston

celtic music from professional violinist and cornish composer Sue Aston

'Sue Aston's violin playing reaches out with such emotion. All aspects of life are here, from the village community of 'Sketches of Newlyn, rural folklore with 'Maypole dance' and the orchestral sweep of 'Elly's Theme'.   The compositions and melodies are so strong that it's hard to pick individual highlights. Richard Phillips

celtic music and relaxing soundscapes from composer sue aston

Sacred Landscapes: Recording these pieces (see below)  took me on a journey that went far beyond my passion for the Landscape that inspired it. As a composer I absorb a great deal of inspiration from the natural landscape.  There are a wealth of other well known composers who also had an affinity with the landscape such as Bax, Elgar, Vaughan Williams, Holst, Bantock and Butterworth.  BUY ONLINE
