Working on Introductions!
I’ve spent my time working on introductions to some compositions I’m working on! As usual, I’m juggling many musical projects at once, but focusing mainly on ‘Mizzling Marsh’, which will be ready for you to hear soon, and a piece of music for my mom!
I have always been inspired by spending time in the landscape, both natural and urban, but I’ve realised that I’m equally drawn to write music for people! After all, people who are special to us should be celebrated!
Since lockdown, I’ve been looking after my mom, who is 90 and who is staying safe indoors. I take her the shopping, then play the piano for her, then give her a piano lesson! Music has been all about making others happy! It really is a therapy! My mom has loved listening to my ‘Initial Bond’ piece, which I wrote using my dad’s initials, and I’m working on a piece which was inspired by her name, ‘Dorothy’. A lovely long name (also my middle name!) and it has created possibly the most cheerful melody I’ve ever written!
So, a day working on intros to these two pieces. Talking of intros, for Patrons who are able to pledge $10 and over, I am going to be putting together a Zoom chat, which will be recorded for anyone who can’t make it! Please let me know if you would like to join me (don’t be shy!) or send me some requests or questions you would like me to answer. Huge thanks to you all, you are all so very special to me 😊👍X
