These shows are filmed on location in Cornwall.
Episode Four / Five : A Tale of Two Cornish Giants
It’s a double bill, and features a new piano piece ‘For the Love of Agnes’ which was inspired by the legend of Bolster the Giant. A performance of ‘Holiburn’s Lament’ is featured against the backdrop of Carn Galva which inspired it, and there’s ‘Fiddling With Food’ featuring a themed bake! Also included is some poetry, art work and bloopers at the end – phew!
Thanks to all my wonderful Patrons for your continued support – I could not do this without you X
Episode Three : Afternoon Reverie
This show takes in a coastal walk in Cornwall, from Porthtowan and along towards Wheal Coates near St Agnes. The music featured is my track ‘Rose Farm – A Piece of Heaven’. I paint a watercolour on location which features the engine houses.
Episode Two : The Hooting Carn
The Diary of a Coastal Composer Show, filmed at Carn Kenidjack, ‘The Hooting Carn’ in West Cornwall.
This is the location for my track ‘Bound in Goassamer Threads’. I will show you this amazing place, high up on the moors, which inspired my music, share some spooky folklore with you, and perform an extract of the music!
Episode One : The Handmaidens Dream
In episode 1, the show was filmed at Minster church, Boscastle, which is near to Tintagel in Cornwall. This place was full of folklore, and the story of the Celtic princess – St. Madryn – inspired the new music ‘The Handmaiden’s Dream’.
The pilot show was filmed on location at Lostwithiel, Cornwall – the place which inspired my new composition, ‘The Castle of the Black Prince’. You can see the castle, high up on the hills, while I play the track for solo violin, and then on the banks of the River Fowey I read from Paul Broadhurst’s book ‘The Secret Land’ which tells you about the story of the Black Prince, and why he was so named.
