It’s a gorgeous sunny day, and I’m getting my vitamin D dose by sitting in the garden with a nice cup of tea! I have my notebooks at hand, as well as my favourite art book, by Hope Bourne, to fire up my inspiration ahead of filming my next show tomorrow!
I’m going to be talking about the composition I’ve been working on this week, and what has been fuelling my creativity!
I really cannot thank you all enough for your constant support, especially during this time of great uncertainty. Although my violin work has all been postponed, I do value this downtime, as it has given me the time to focus solely on my composing and piano playing! I’ve also had more energy to give to my artwork too, so it’s been an unusual time which has yielded an opportunity to follow my heart, all thanks to you! ??xxx
A look around Lostwithiel in Cornwall. This is from 2014. I will be incorporating more travel videos into my ‘Diary of a Coastal Composer Show’ going forward.
I was doing my piano practise this morning, and when I looked up, (or rather, down and sideways!) there was Rocky, snuggled up to my violin case and a pile of books!
As we humans busy ourselves with our activities, we often forget that our loyal pets are watching and being influenced by what we are doing. Whenever I play music, Rocky is always watching and listening to me, like a trusty, loyal companion. He doesn’t like loud instruments, like church organs and trumpets! Even choirs make him run off if that is played on the radio! It’s a real pleasure for me to know that he enjoys my music and that he seems to find it peaceful! Rocky probably hears my music more than anyone! ??
I will be filming my next show on Thursday, and I’m working on a new video for Edna. I’m also working on recording a couple of piano tracks for my album too. Thanks to lockdown (I’m still locking down anyway as I’m caring for my 90 year old mom!) I have time to focus and create more! Lots of love and heartfelt thanks to you all ?X
Here is my new weekly show! It includes ‘Initial Bond’, my Poetry Postcard, and some inspiring words. I hope you enjoy it! Thanks so much for your amazing support! X
I thought I would share my photo with you from a refreshing walk I had the other day! In between showers of rain, we have had some gorgeous moments of sunshine. It’s very good for mind, body and soul.
The shape of the rocks as it goes down to the sea, looks a little bit like the head of a sleeping dragon! Let’s hope it doesn’t wake up!
Have a lovely weekend everyone, and thanks so much for your wonderful support ?X
Here’s a pretty picture from a recent walk! You can see the magical St Michael’s Mount in the photo. At least the sun is shining at the moment!
I have an exciting update for you all! I’m launching a new ‘Diary of a Coastal Composer’ show, which will be a regular event ( I’m aiming for every week! )
I’ll be demonstrating and talking about the new music I’m working on, showing my art work, reading inspirational poetry and sharing all my thoughts, hopes and dreams with you all!
This will be released to all you wonderful Patrons first, ahead of release to the public. You may also suggest anything you would like me to include too, please feel free to let me know what you would like me to play or talk about!
I’m currently working on two of my new compositions at the moment, so keep an eye and ear out for new videos too!
My Poetry Postcards are in production and will be posted out soon. Huge and heartfelt thanks to all of you for keeping me inspired. I’m so very grateful to you all, especially during this uncertain time xxx
I hope you are all well and staying safe during this continuing strange time. I do so appreciate the support you all give to me! I thought I would share something new I’m working on.
My Grandfather, on my Dad’s side of the family, wrote a few songs and I’m going to work on one of them and record it! I’m going to arrange the music, most likely for strings and piano, and voice. The words of the song are beautiful, ‘Just Another Dream of You’, and I feel as though I know the song well already as I’ve often played the music over the years.
My grandfather, Alf Fellows, died when he was 39, and so sadly I never met him. I was fortunate to be able to play his violin and to have the music he created, 4 songs in all, in various stages of development.
The song I’m working on was rejected by a music publisher as they apparently told him that they had enough of that style of song already! How sad! So I’m going to get it recorded for him! I’ll keep you updated with my progress! X
