Yesterday I went for a lunchtime stroll around a beautiful country church on the outskirts of Truro – Kenwyn Church. The surrounding area is quite secluded and shady, and I decided to go along and research some Celtic crosses that were in the churchyard.
It soon began to rain however, icy cold drips! I hurried back through the mud to my car and got all my pencils and pens out, and created a quick sketch of this lovely old church. I used pencil first to create the initial outline, then went over this in pen.
When I got home, I poured myself a steaming hot cup of tea, and filled in the ink sketches with watercolour washes. It’s the first time I have created a picture in this way, and I enjoyed myself! It felt a bit like colouring in, for adults! Hope you like it too. I hope to feature some Celtic crosses in my artwork soon. Good job I took plenty of photos! X
